Corning flew from Charlotte Douglas International Airport to Elmira-Corning Regional Airport on June 19, 2026, a 1-hour 9-minute hop aboard Falcon 900 N38CG. The same week, Corning and Amazon announced a multibillion-dollar fiber agreement to supply optical connectivity for Amazon Web Services data centers, as covered by Broadband Breakfast on June 8 [broadbandbreakfast.com](https://broadbandbreakfast.com/amazon-corning-reach-multibillion-dollar-fiber-deal/). The deal will create 1,000 new jobs at Corning’s North Carolina facilities and expand a fiber technician training program with Catawba Valley Community College, per the companies.
The Charlotte-area trip follows a pattern of frequent Corning flights to the region. Over the past three days, N38CG and other Corning aircraft have shuttled between Elmira and Charlotte multiple times, including a May 15 trip the week of the NVIDIA factory announcement [celebplanes.com](https://www.celebplanes.com/articles/corning-inc-flight-1672). The destination is a logical base for overseeing the company's expanding manufacturing footprint in the Carolinas, where Corning already operates eight factories.
The Amazon agreement marks the latest in a series of hyperscaler deals for Corning. In May, the company announced a long-term partnership with NVIDIA to expand U.S. optical connectivity capacity tenfold, and a $6 billion deal with Meta earlier this year. Corning's stock has doubled since the start of the year.
