Dow
Dow flew from its Midland headquarters at MBS International Airport to Texas Gulf Coast Regional Airport on May 12, a 2-hour 33-minute hop aboard its Bombardier CRJ-900, tail N892D. The aircraft arrived at KLBX, the closest commercial field to Dow’s massive Freeport petrochemical complex.
The same week, the Environmental Integrity Project sent a letter to the EPA and Texas regulators alleging that Dow’s Freeport plant has emitted hundreds of tons of pollution beyond permitted limits over the past five years, including 139 tons of carbon monoxide and 119 tons of volatile organic compounds, per [eenews.net](https://www.eenews.net/articles/watchdog-flags-alleged-dow-plant-emissions-violations/) and [houstonpublicmedia.org](https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/news/energy-environment/2026/05/05/550947/environmental-advocates-call-for-increased-enforcement-against-dow-freeport-plant/?amp=1). The group called for immediate enforcement action. Dow said it works cooperatively with regulators and remains committed to compliance.
The flight fits a pattern: N892D has shuttled between Midland and the Houston-area airports (KIAH, KLBX, KSAT) repeatedly in recent days, consistent with its role moving engineering teams between Dow’s Michigan headquarters and its Gulf Coast manufacturing sites.
