Dow
Dow flew N892D, a Bombardier CRJ-900, from Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport to Texas Gulf Coast Regional Airport on May 26, 2026 — a 14-minute repositioning flight that hugged the Louisiana coast at just 550 feet. The aircraft, typically used to shuttle engineering teams between Dow's manufacturing sites, arrived at the company's Texas Gulf Coast operations hub.
The same week, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued a Finding of No Significant Impact for Dow and X-energy's proposed advanced nuclear reactor at the company's UCC Seadrift Operations, per a Dow press release on May 18. The Long Mott Generating Station, if built, would be the first grid-scale advanced nuclear reactor serving an industrial site in North America, providing both electricity and high-temperature steam to the complex.
The flight continues a pattern of frequent shuttling between Dow's Texas and Louisiana facilities — N892D has made at least 14 trips between Baton Rouge and Texas Gulf Coast since May 11. The CRJ-900's capacity to move large engineering teams aligns with the company's need to coordinate site preparation and regulatory work across multiple Gulf Coast manufacturing locations.
