Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani
Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani flew from Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia to Paris-Orly on June 15, 2026, aboard a Boeing 747-8 BBJ (tail A7-HHE). The six-and-a-half-hour flight from the Saudi oil terminal follows a series of diplomatic stops across the Gulf.
The trip comes just weeks after the Emir visited Athens for an official working visit on April 29, where, per Qatar Updates, he met Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Parapolitika.gr reported that the visit signaled a €1 billion Qatari investment in Greece and solidified Athens as a gateway for Qatari liquefied natural gas into Europe. The Emir also made fraternal visits to Saudi Arabia and the UAE in late March, where regional security and economic cooperation topped the agenda, according to Qatar News Agency and UAE News Network.
Paris is a recurring destination for the Emir, who keeps a residence in the city and whose Qatar Amiri Flight frequently operates to Le Bourget and Orly. The flight from Ras Tanura — a refinery city — hints at energy-diplomacy spillover from his earlier talks: securing supply chains and Gulf investment channels while the Middle East remains volatile. For the Emir, the runway at Orly is a diplomatic filing cabinet.
