Ernesto Bertarelli
Ernesto Bertarelli flew from San Jose to Farnborough on June 15, a nine-hour, 56-minute transatlantic crossing in his Bombardier Global 7500, HB-JIT. The flight arrived at 8:40 AM local time, capping a week that began with a June 12 hop from London to the San Francisco Bay Area.
Bertarelli’s trip to California comes as private jet traffic to Europe spikes for the Monaco Grand Prix and Cannes Film Festival, per a Reuters report this week. Amalfi Jets noted a quarter more requests for Cannes and nearly a third more for Monaco compared to last year, as wealthy travelers shift from commercial flights to avoid disruptions linked to the Iran war. Bertarelli, a regular at Riviera events, often bases his 96-meter superyacht Vava II in the region.
His recent flight pattern shows a familiar rhythm: Geneva to Olbia (Sardinia), then to Nice, then to London, then to San Jose, and back to Farnborough. The return to London suggests a summer calendar of European sailing and foundation work, with the Bertarelli Foundation’s marine conservation and neuroscience initiatives spanning multiple continents. For now, he’s back on home turf.
