Rory McIlroy
Rory McIlroy flew from Palm Beach International to Farnborough Airport on May 24, a transatlantic hop of just over eight hours in his Gulfstream G650ER, tail number N1989R. The jet touched down at 7:10 UTC on May 25, parking within easy reach of central London.
The trip coincides with the Europa League final, set for May 27 at Athletic Bilbao's San Mamés Stadium. McIlroy, a lifelong Manchester United supporter, is expected to attend the match against Tottenham Hotspur, as reported by the Irish Mirror. United manager Ruben Amorim invited McIlroy to Old Trafford after his Masters win, and the golfer's jet made a brief pit stop in Belfast earlier this week before continuing to Bilbao, per flight tracking data.
The flight continues a pattern of McIlroy using his G650ER for quick, targeted trips. Before the Masters, he flew day trips from Jupiter to Augusta to practice, dropping his daughter at school and returning home for dinner. Now, with the green jacket secured, the jet is ferrying him to support his other passion: football.
