General Electric flew from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport on May 28, arriving at 1:48 p.m. after a 2-hour-43-minute trip in its HondaJet HA-420, tail number N120GE. The very-light jet, part of a modest corporate fleet that belies the aerospace giant's scale, made the 990-mile hop at a maximum speed of 409 knots.
The same week, the Southeast Aerospace Summit is underway at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center, per the event calendar on aerospace.org. The three-day conference, which began May 27, brings together engine manufacturers, airline executives, and defense contractors — a natural fit for General Electric, whose GE Aerospace unit designs the engines powering much of the commercial fleet. CEO Larry Culp is listed as a scheduled keynote speaker, according to the summit's agenda.
The Cincinnati-based company has been an active traveler this month: N120GE visited Washington Dulles and Huntsville on May 27, followed by a trip to Long Island on May 22. Those stops — near the Pentagon, Army aviation facilities, and New York defense contractors — align with the post-spinoff push to deepen relationships in both government and commercial sectors. This Fort Lauderdale visit continues that pattern.
