Lakshmi Mittal
Lakshmi Mittal departed from Marsh Hill Farm, a private airstrip near London, on June 5, landing at Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport just under two hours later aboard his Bombardier Global 7500, G-LOBX. The flight, a brief 1 hour 45 minutes across the English Channel and into the South of France, is his second trip to Nice in a week — he arrived from London on May 28, then flew to India before returning to the UK.
The journey comes months after Mittal officially shifted his tax residence to Switzerland and acquired property on Dubai's Naïa Island, following the UK Labour government's abolition of the non-dom tax regime, per The Profit India. His 30-year residency in London, where he famously lived on Kensington Palace Gardens, has given way to a more peripatetic existence rooted in lower-tax jurisdictions. Nice, close to the Swiss border and a gateway to Monaco, fits comfortably into that new geography.
The flight fits a broader pattern: Mittal's Global 7500 has shuttled between London, Geneva, Luxembourg (home to ArcelorMittal's headquarters), and Dubai in recent weeks, as per flight records. While the precise purpose of this particular trip is unconfirmed, the destination — a playground for the global ultrarich — aligns with his new status as a Swiss resident with a Middle Eastern foothold.
