Laurene Powell Jobs
Laurene Powell Jobs flew from Northwest Arkansas to Oakland on May 12, touching down at KOAK just before 5 p.m. local time aboard the Gulfstream G650 N2N. The three-hour hop from XNA followed a string of international and domestic legs that began in Milan and passed through Washington, D.C., and Arkansas over the prior week.
The return to the Bay Area comes the same week Emerson Collective, Powell Jobs' investment and philanthropy firm, made news for backing two healthcare startups. Per a CNBC report on May 7, the firm joined a $9.3 million seed round for Ultralight, an AI-powered personalized health platform, and co-led a $100 million Series A for Stipple Bio, a cancer therapy developer. The investments reflect a broader family-office push into life sciences, with nearly a third of April's direct deals going to healthcare.
Powell Jobs maintains homes in Palo Alto and San Francisco, including a record $70 million Pacific Heights mansion purchased in 2024. The Oakland arrival puts her within easy reach of both residences and the Emerson Collective offices, suggesting the trip was a return to base after a period of travel that included stops in Italy and the nation's capital.
