Laurene Powell Jobs
Laurene Powell Jobs flew from Teterboro, New Jersey, to Washington Dulles on May 17, a quick 50-minute hop aboard her Gulfstream G650 (N2N). The aircraft, inherited from her late husband Steve Jobs, touched down at 7:34 p.m. local time.
The trip comes the same week CNBC reported that family office deal-making rebounded in April, with nearly a third of investments flowing into healthcare and life sciences. Powell Jobs' Emerson Collective participated in two such deals: a seed round for Ultralight, an AI healthcare platform, and a Series A for Stipple Bio, a cancer therapy developer. The report noted that the Stipple Bio investment was managed by Yosemite, a fund founded by her son Reed Jobs. The Washington area is home to The Atlantic, which Powell Jobs owns, and she frequently visits for business related to her media and philanthropic ventures.
Recent flight data shows a pattern of shuttling between the East Coast, Florida, and California. Powell Jobs maintains homes in Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Malibu, but her D.C. visits often coincide with board meetings or policy discussions, as she also serves on the boards of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Ford Foundation.
