The Tahoe compound, located on the lake’s west shore, has been a recurring weekend destination: tracked flights in the past week show multiple short trips between Tahoe-area airports and Bay Area fields. On July 23, the same aircraft flew from near Truckee to the Salinas area and back, likely a day trip; earlier on July 16 and 17, several legs connected the Lake Tahoe region to San Jose and Monterey.

Air Sailing Gliderport, the departure point, is known for its excellent soaring conditions — an appropriate choice for an aviation enthusiast. The G700 is Mark Zuckerberg’s newest executive jet, delivered in December 2024 and operated by Solairus Aviation. Its first-class range and comfort make it ideal for the cross-country and trans-Pacific trips that define his travel pattern, but this 34-minute hop to Moffett Field is a reminder that even the longest-range jets are used for the shortest commutes.

It is worth noting that Meta has taken steps to limit public flight tracking, banning Jack Sweeney’s accounts across its platforms in October 2024 over safety concerns. Yet the data remains public through ADS-B exchanges, allowing these movements to be assembled into a travel diary.
