MGM Resorts's Jet Lands in Miami Amid Buyout Speculation
If aboard, the timing of the flight from Los Angeles lines up with the unfolding acquisition saga.

MGM Resorts's Embraer Legacy 500, tail N783MM, was tracked flying from Los Angeles International Airport to Miami International Airport on June 27, arriving after a 4-hour, 46-minute flight. The aircraft reached a maximum altitude of 37,025 feet and a top speed of 505 knots.
If MGM Resorts was aboard, the trip would come the same month the company confirmed an $18 billion acquisition proposal from People Incorporated, f/k/a IAC, per a June 1 press release on investors.mgmresorts.com and coverage by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The offer, at $48.30 per share in cash, is under review by MGM Resorts's board, and Miami has long been a hub for high-stakes deal-making and investor meetings.
The flight follows a pattern of cross-country shuttles: the same aircraft repositioned from Las Vegas to Los Angeles earlier on June 27, and the broader fleet has recently connected Las Vegas with Dallas, Seattle, and the Cayman Islands. Should MGM Resorts's leadership have been on board, the Miami stop would fit neatly into a routine of business travel between major financial centers.
