Michael Bloomberg
Michael Bloomberg flew from Flying Ridge Airstrip in Connecticut to Toulon-Hyères Airport in the south of France on June 10, a 7-hour 26-minute crossing in his Falcon 900LX, N47EG. The aircraft reached 41,025 feet and a top ground speed of 516 knots.
The same week Bloomberg arrives on the Riviera, his namesake foundation is preparing to anchor a series of major climate, energy, and finance gatherings during London Climate Action Week, which runs June 22–26. According to a press release from Bloomberg Philanthropies, the centerpiece will be a June 23 event at Guildhall featuring a landmark address from UN Secretary-General António Guterres, hosted by Michael Bloomberg in his capacity as the Secretary-General’s Special Envoy. Bloomberg LP research arms BloombergNEF and Bloomberg Intelligence will also present outlooks on the energy transition and climate-economy spending.
Toulon is roughly a two-hour drive from Nice, where Bloomberg has been known to base himself when traveling to European climate and business engagements. The flight follows a pattern of transatlantic positioning: earlier in May, Bloomberg’s N47EG flew from Morristown, New Jersey, to Sonoma County, California, and back, reflecting the globe-trotting schedule of a $100 billion philanthropist who runs a financial data empire while serving as a UN climate envoy.
