NextEra Energy's aircraft lands in Sarasota after a string of flights amid $150 million settlement
If aboard, the timing would place NextEra executives in Florida's Gulf Coast the same week the company filed a $150 million securities settlement and pursues a $67 billion merger.

NextEra Energy
NextEra Energy's Embraer Praetor 600 (N31MW) was tracked flying from Palm Beach International Airport to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport on June 28, a 40-minute hop touching down at 12:30 p.m. local time. The short hop from the company's home base follows a busy week of movement for the fleet.
If aboard, NextEra Energy would arrive the same week the company filed a $150 million settlement to resolve a securities class-action lawsuit over allegations that its subsidiary Florida Power & Light misled investors about political interference schemes, per a Utility Dive report on June 16. The settlement comes about a month after NextEra announced a $67 billion merger with Dominion Energy.
The Sarasota landing follows a pattern of unusual destinations for the fleet: on June 18, N31MW flew from a remote Wyoming airstrip to Sarasota, as covered by celebplanes, and the aircraft has logged multiple trips to Chicago and the Northeast in recent days. Should NextEra Energy's leadership have been aboard, the back-to-back flights suggest intensive boardroom discussions as the company navigates regulatory approvals and legal fallout.
