If NextEra Energy was aboard, the company would arrive in Florida's capital the same week it is navigating a $150 million proposed settlement to end a securities class-action lawsuit over allegations that its subsidiary Florida Power & Light misled investors about political interference schemes, per Utility Dive. The settlement, filed in federal court Monday, comes about a month after NextEra Energy announced a roughly $67 billion all-stock merger with Dominion Energy to create the world's largest regulated electric utility, as covered by E&E News.
