Shell flew from Cologne Bonn Airport to Rotterdam The Hague Airport on June 19, 2026, a 45-minute hop in its Dassault Falcon 7X. The flight lands the same week Shell Catalysts & Technologies signed a technology licence agreement with ENGIE for the France KerEAUzen project, which aims to produce synthetic aviation fuel from captured biogenic CO2 and renewable hydrogen. Shell is licensing its XTL Process — including the Shell Reverse Water-Gas Shift and Fischer-Tropsch steps — to convert CO2 into drop-in kerosene meeting ReFuelEU Aviation standards. The project, located in Le Havre, Normandy, was selected under France's ADEME Carb Aero initiative and will supply Paris airports. Shell's Rotterdam base, where its global aviation and trading teams are housed, is the natural hub for finalising the industrial terms. The trip follows a pattern of Shell shuttling between its key European operational centres this week. Earlier on June 19, the same aircraft flew from Rotterdam to Cologne and back, consistent with the company's use of its Cayman-registered Falcons to move executives between its German and Dutch energy trading desks.
