SpaceX flew from Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport on May 16, a routine three-hour hop for the company's employee shuttle, N154TS. The 737-800, which typically runs the LAX–Brownsville route multiple times a week, arrived at 3:33 a.m. UTC after a brief overnight trip.
The same week, SpaceX is targeting May 19 for the debut launch of its Starship V3 rocket, according to Spaceflight Now and Space.com. The upgraded vehicle, standing 408 feet tall, will lift off from the newly commissioned Pad 2 at Starbase in Boca Chica, Texas, on a suborbital test flight. The mission will also mark the first use of Raptor 3 engines and the deployment of 22 simulator Starlink satellites.
The flight pattern shows the shuttle returning to Los Angeles after a series of local movements around Brownsville in recent days, consistent with the company's pattern of rotating employees between Hawthorne headquarters and the South Texas launch site ahead of major milestones. The May 16 arrival aligns with the typical cadence of personnel moving back to California after supporting pre-launch preparations at Starbase.
