SpaceX flew from John Wayne Airport in Orange County to Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport on May 23, a 2-hour-50-minute hop that landed at 2:45 p.m. local time. The Boeing 737-800, registered N154TS and operated by Falcon Aviation Holdings LLC, serves as a high-capacity employee shuttle rather than executive transport, per the aircraft's flight history.
The same week, SpaceX is preparing for another Starship test flight from its Starbase facility in Boca Chica, just east of Brownsville. The company has been conducting static fire tests and stacking operations in recent days, according to local media reports and FAA advisories. The shuttle's arrival aligns with the typical surge of engineering staff needed ahead of a launch campaign.
This trip follows a familiar pattern: N154TS has flown the LAX-to-Brownsville route roughly three times a week in 2025 and 2026, according to Celebplanes tracking data. The aircraft, acquired from Air China in August 2023, logged 116 flights and 276 hours in 2024 alone, burning over 225,000 gallons of fuel. Its grey livery and rooftop antennas remain a favorite among planespotters at both ends of the route.
