State Farm lands in Bloomington the same week California releases wildfire claims audit
A flight home for the insurer as state regulators detail alleged mishandling of 2025 wildfire claims.

State Farm
State Farm flew from Tucson to its headquarters in Bloomington, Illinois, on May 24, 2026, aboard the Dassault Falcon 50EX N44SF, a 2-hour 32-minute hop that touched down at Central Illinois Regional Airport shortly after 3 p.m. local time.
The same week the California Department of Insurance announced a major enforcement action against State Farm General Insurance Company, accusing the insurer of mishandling claims from the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. In a filing reviewed by the investigative news site Popular Information, CDI examiners found violations in more than half of the 220 claims sampled, citing slow investigations, underpayment, and inadequate communication. State Farm rejected the conclusions but admitted fault in some cases.
A mutual company owned by its policyholders, State Farm operates a four-aircraft Falcon fleet out of Bloomington. The Tucson trip continues a rhythm of short-leg flying—just days earlier, the same Falcon 50EX flew to Traverse City, Michigan, and back. This flight, however, lands amid the most serious regulatory scrutiny the insurer has faced in years, per the CDI action filed May 20, 2026.
