State Farm lands in Chicago the week its agents protest contract changes
A brief hop from Joliet arrives as State Farm faces agent revolt and new Illinois rate regulations.

State Farm
State Farm flew from Joliet Regional Airport to Chicago on June 10, a 14-minute hop in the Dassault Falcon 50EX (N44SF). The short flight landed near the city the same week the insurer's captive agents are boiling mad over contract changes that eliminate deferred compensation, end health insurance support, and reduce base pay, per a WGLT report from June 2. A group called 'Save the Farm' plans to attend the company's annual meeting in Bloomington on June 8 to urge repudiation of the changes.
The Chicago-area arrival also comes as Illinois lawmakers passed auto and home insurance regulations that give the Department of Insurance new authority to block rate increases of 10% or more, as covered by the Chicago Sun-Times on May 28. State Farm called the legislation disappointing, saying it fails to address underlying cost drivers. The company reported net income of $12.9 billion in 2025, up from $5.3 billion a year earlier.
This is not State Farm's only recent movement. Over the past week, its fleet has shuttled people between Bloomington and destinations including Newark, West Palm Beach, Dallas, Louisville, and Pullman. The frequency of flights into KBMI suggests heavy activity at the Bloomington headquarters — likely tied to both the agent unrest and the new regulatory landscape in Illinois.
