Travis Kalanick
Travis Kalanick flew from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey to Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles aboard his Gulfstream G650ER, N10100, departing late on May 8 and landing early on May 9 after nearly five hours in the air. The trip capped a quick cross-country jaunt, following his departure from the San Francisco area just two days earlier.
Kalanick touches down in Los Angeles the same week his CloudKitchens—now part of his Atoms robotics venture—continues to anchor its U.S. operations in the region, with a dozen facilities supporting ghost kitchens across the city. Though he relocated to Austin last December to sidestep California's wealth tax, the former Uber CEO maintains his $43.3 million Bel Air estate, a fixture since 2020, suggesting a blend of personal retreat and business oversight in a market central to Atoms' food automation push.
This flight fits Kalanick's pattern of shuttling between tech hubs, from a recent stop near San Francisco—site of Atoms' April launch party—to New York, where he owns a SoHo penthouse. With CloudKitchens spanning 110 cities worldwide, such trips underscore his hands-on approach to scaling the $15 billion-valued network, even from his Texas base.
