Vale
Vale flew from Belo Horizonte to Philadelphia on June 19, 2026, in its Bombardier Global Express XRS, tail PP-VDR. The flight arrived the same week that Previ, Vale's top shareholder, pushed for an extraordinary meeting to remove Chairman Daniel Stieler, per a Reuters report published June 11. The pension fund, which holds about 7% of Vale, has proposed replacing Stieler with former chairman José Maurício Coelho and backing Manuel Oliveira for the chair, setting up a proxy contest at one of Brazil's most influential companies.
The Philadelphia stopover, followed by a short hop to Orlando on June 20, suggests a North American itinerary tied to investor relations or operational meetings — Vale maintains significant mining assets in Canada, including the Voisey's Bay nickel mine. The trip comes as Vale continues to streamline costs; it sold this very Global Express XRS earlier this year, replacing it with a smaller Praetor 500, and now relies more on commercial flights for executive travel, as reported by ch-aviation in March.
Vale's corporate aviation footprint has shrunk from eight jets in 2012 to a single light jet and a King Air today. The flight path — from its home base at Belo Horizonte Pampulha to the U.S. Northeast and Florida — mirrors the company's need to engage with shareholders and oversee international operations, even as it trims the hardware used to get there.
