Gulfstream G700
4K-AI700 · ICAO: N/A · Heavy jet

Ilham Aliyev has been President of Azerbaijan since October 2003, succeeding his father Heydar Aliyev. The government VIP fleet is based at Baku's Heydar Aliyev International (UBBB/GYD) and is maintained alongside AZAL, the state carrier.
4K-AI700 is a Gulfstream G700, MSN 87113, delivered new to the Azerbaijan government in July 2026 and first photographed outside the country at London Luton on 31 July 2026. The registration follows the fleet's convention of encoding the model in the digits — 4K-AI88 is the government G650, 4K-AI700 is the G700. The G700 is Gulfstream's flagship: 7,500nm range, Mach 0.925 top speed, and the tallest, longest cabin in business aviation, which puts nearly every European and Gulf capital within a single nonstop of Baku.
The rest of the fleet is considerably older and heavier: a Boeing 767-32L(ER) (4K-AI01, hex 600BE8, registered to the Government of Azerbaijan), a Boeing 777-200LR (4K-AI001), an Airbus A340-600 (4K-AI08), a Gulfstream G650 (4K-AI88), a Gulfstream G550 (4K-AI06), and an Airbus A319 CJ (4K-8888). The G700 is the fleet's first genuinely modern long-range jet and is the aircraft to watch for Aliyev's own movements.
Azerbaijan's diplomacy runs on energy and regional security: the Southern Gas Corridor into Europe, close ties with Turkey, a working relationship with Moscow, and the aftermath of the September 2023 Karabakh operation. Baku hosted COP29 in November 2024. Expect Ankara, Istanbul, Tbilisi, Moscow, Brussels, and the Gulf to dominate the route map.
Note: the G700 is new enough that its Mode S hex has not yet been bound — it is tracked by registration until the first live sighting.
Note · Celebplanes tracks Ilham Aliyev / Azerbaijan Government Flight's registered aircraft — not Ilham Aliyev / Azerbaijan Government Flight personally. ADS-B data shows when and where the plane moved; who was aboard any given flight is unknown.
