Bruce McCaw

Bruce McCaw, born 1946, is the eldest of the four McCaw brothers and a co-founder and director of McCaw Cellular. His own ventures ran to aviation insurance — he co-founded Westar Insurance in Bellevue, later merged into Forbes Westar — and to Horizon Airlines. In 1993 he founded PacWest Racing, a CART team that ran Mauricio Gugelmin, Mark Blundell, Danny Sullivan, Scott Sharp and, at the end, a young Scott Dixon, whose 2001 Nazareth win was the team's last before it folded after 2002. He has raced historic cars since 1978 on American, British and New Zealand circuits, took Best in Show at Pebble Beach in 2017, and has held a pilot's licence for more than forty years with commercial and instrument ratings. He is chairman emeritus of Pistol Creek Company and sits on the boards of the Seattle Opera, the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation and the National Air and Space Museum. The only net-worth figure in circulation dates to 2005 and should not be treated as current.

The chain to him is better than most in this batch even without a name on the registry. That is three documented links rather than an inference from initials — which is just as well, because the 'WM' in the tail does not correspond to his name and nothing public explains it.
