Dermot Desmond is an Irish financier with a net worth estimated around €2 billion, ranking him among Ireland's ten wealthiest people. He founded NCB Stockbrokers in 1981, built it into the largest independent brokerage in Ireland, and sold it in 1994 for about $39 million, then set up his private equity vehicle International Investment & Underwriting (IIU).
