If Howard Lutnick was aboard the brief hop from Westhampton Beach, N.Y., it coincides with bipartisan calls for his resignation over newly surfaced Epstein communications.

Howard Lutnick
Howard Lutnick's Embraer Lineage 1000E (N527AH) was tracked flying from Francis S Gabreski Airport (KFOK) in Westhampton Beach, N.Y., to New York Stewart International Airport (KSWF) on the evening of August 21, 2026, a flight of just 25 minutes and 283 knots ground speed. The aircraft, registered to Lineage Asset Company LLC and configured for up to 19 passengers, covered only 86 nautical miles — a short repositioning hop from the eastern end of Long Island to the Hudson Valley.
If Howard Lutnick was aboard, the timing would place him back in the New York area the same week new Justice Department documents revived scrutiny of his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Per an ABC News report published this week, bipartisan members of Congress have called for Lutnick's resignation after records showed he communicated with Epstein as recently as 2018 — more than a decade after Lutnick said he cut ties — and that Lutnick and his family planned to visit Epstein's private island in 2012. The Commerce Department spokesperson has declined to comment further on the matter.
The flight follows a busy five-day pattern of aircraft movements that suggest Lutnick's weekend return to the Northeast after a trip to Florida. On August 18, the Lineage 1000E flew from Stewart to Palm Beach (KPBI), before shuttling back to Long Island's KFOK. On August 20, the aircraft made a round trip from Stewart to Washington D.C. (KDCA) and back. The apparent weekend stop at KFOK, a small airport near the Hamptons, is consistent with a familiar pattern: Lutnick and his family have a long history of summering in the area, and the airport is a convenient gateway to eastern Long Island's resort communities.

Lutnick’s confirmation as Commerce Secretary in February 2025, per Reuters, put him in charge of a sprawling portfolio — export controls, tariffs, the CHIPS Act — and made him the face of the Trump administration’s aggressive trade posture. But his public persona, forged after losing 658 colleagues on 9/11, now competes with a paper trail that, per CNN, shows he emailed Epstein in 2018 about a museum expansion, and that Epstein donated $50,000 to a 2017 dinner honoring Lutnick. The Commerce Department is not commenting on the flight, and there is no indication the aircraft’s movements are tied to any official business.
For now, the Lineage 1000E sits at Stewart, a former Air National Guard base turned cargo hub 65 miles north of Manhattan. Should Lutnick have been aboard that brief hop from the Hamptons, he may have simply been returning to his primary residence before the week ahead — a week that promises more headlines about a Cabinet member whose ties to Epstein refuse to fade from the news cycle.
