Winklevoss Twins
Winklevoss Twins's aircraft (N533WE, a Gulfstream G500) was tracked flying from Dothan Regional Airport to a location near Birmingham, Alabama, on July 1, covering the 30-minute hop at around 22,000 feet. The aircraft has been shuttling between Alabama and Florida in recent days, with multiple arrivals at Dothan from Florida airports.
If Winklevoss Twins were aboard, the timing would align with a significant week for their cryptocurrency exchange, Gemini. Per a report from MiningPool.co.uk on June 26, the CFTC granted Gemini's clearing affiliate a Derivatives Clearing Organisation license, giving the exchange the ability to clear and settle its own futures, options, and prediction-market trades in the U.S. That regulatory milestone — the last piece of derivatives infrastructure — would likely require executive attention, possibly explaining a trip to Alabama, home to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center and a growing tech presence.
The twins' aircraft has been unusually active in the region, with six flights to or from Dothan in the past two weeks, a pattern that suggests business interests in the area beyond the twins' known homes in New York and Los Angeles.
