PNC Financial's Bombardier Challenger 300 (N852DL) was tracked flying from Tower Airfield in Pennsylvania to Teterboro Airport in New Jersey on June 24, a 46-minute hop that touched down just after 4:18 p.m. local time. The aircraft, part of the bank's four-jet fleet, reached 29,000 feet and a top speed of 512 knots before descending into the New York metro area.
If PNC Financial's leadership was aboard, the arrival would come just two days after the bank announced it had completed the conversion of 780,000 customers and 95 branches from FirstBank to PNC Bank, per a June 22 PRNewswire release. The milestone — called a reflection of 'thousands of employees' focus' by CEO William Demchak — would naturally require follow-up meetings with regional executives, regulators, or investors in the financial capital.
The Teterboro landing continues a pattern of concentrated New York-area travel this week. Over the previous three days, PNC Financial's aircraft made at least four trips involving airports near Manhattan, including a June 23 flight from Pittsburgh to Teterboro and a June 22 hop from the Philadelphia area to Morristown. The bank's fleet has been active since its quarterly report in early May, with the Global 5000 (N513DL) also logging cross-country trips in the weeks before the FirstBank conversion closed.
