GLOCK

GLOCK Ges.m.b.H. — the firearms manufacturer founded by Gaston Glock in 1963 at Deutsch-Wagram, Lower Austria, initially making curtain rods and field knives. The Glock 17 was designed in 1982 for an Austrian Army pistol tender by a man who had never built a gun; its polymer frame and low parts count reset the industry, and the design went on to arm roughly two-thirds of US police departments. The company remains privately held and discloses almost nothing.

Gaston Glock died on 27 December 2023, aged 94. Control consolidated under his second wife, Kathrin Glock, whom he married in 2011 and who now chairs and runs GLOCK GmbH and its subsidiaries including GLOCK, Inc. in the United States. The succession has been contested — litigation and estrangement involving the children from his first marriage, documented at length in the press since his death.

OE-IGG is a Bombardier Global Express XRS (BD-700-1A10, hex 44046E) on the Austrian register. Unlike most European corporate jets this one is not trustee-shielded: the registry names Glock Aviation GmbH outright, and earlier records list Glock Services GmbH. Attribution here rests on the registry itself rather than on spotter captions.

Klagenfurt is the working assumption for the base. It anchors the family's Carinthian footprint — the Glock Horse Performance Center at Treffen and the Wörthersee properties — and GLOCK Aviation markets the airframe for charter from Austria. The jet is also photographed regularly at Vienna Schwechat, which may prove to be the real anchor; tracked flights will settle it.
